My Free FPS game, Onslaught has been updated heavily.

Onslaught, a free upcoming FPS game (not related to the WII Game in any way), based on an idea for a game thought up by Me and my Friend Hitman213 in 1995, is slowly being developed as a standalone gzdoom engine game. As of late I have been putting tons of work into it to implement tons of features the original onslaught idea was going to have.

The Premise of the game is that you play as a cyborg mercenary named Bastard. He is a super soldier made by the US Military in the 2120’s. He is a metalhead, as this game is a metal themed FPS. It has extreme metal music and the character is a lot like duke nukem in the fact that he says one liners when killing enemies, but those one liners are all metal themed, unlike duke. He has to fight an insane death cult that is threatening to end the world as we know it by using nuclear weapons and experiments gone wrong to hunt down survivors of the nuclear bombs. You are part of the resistance and have to stop this mad cult, the CSC, which is being ran by a mysterious figure known as the dark one, which in reality is a demon living in a human body.

Onslaught uses horde combat and extreme overpowered guns in it’s gameplay a ton. You fight hundreds of enemies per room and get guns capable of easily destroying them. To counteract that they are super deadly. So you need something to balance that. That something is cyborg powers. With a press of a button you can turn on 1 of 5 cyborg powers that make you super human such as:

Cybernetic Movement Boost
Cybernetic Heal
Cybernetic Weapon Fire Rate Boost
Cybernetic Forcefield (Temporary Invulnerability for 60 seconds)
Cybernetic Weapon Damage Boost

These powers help to balance it. You will find that the enemy counts will be extreme so you end up abusing the force field a lot and end up using it to try to kill the huge hordes super quickly while invulnerable. If you don’t you will die quickly. This game focuses less on old school shooter dodging and more on using cybernetic abilities to survive. Many enemies have nasty instakill attacks that simply cannot be dodged easily at all, so you need use forcefield a ton to beat it. It’s fun and super fast paced. This is so fast paced that it makes Doom 2016 seem slow. You end up killing humungous hordes quickly in a panic. It’s a rush, you try to slay them ultra quickly before the 60 second forcefield turns off, so you run around like a chicken with it’s head cut off, slaying huge hordes super fast to beat it. It’s a blast.

Since my last post the following features have been added into the game:

-Gore levels increased
-One Liners re-recorded to be more badass sounding and less stupid sounding.
-Levels 9 and 21 redone to be much better and less stupid looking.
-Final Hell Section of the game idea recreated as a hellish map made with random my -oblige variant. Originally once you killed the main villian of the game, he goes through a portal to hell and you follow him through to fight him as a spirit there, and run into new enemies too.
-New Skies for the following levels : Space Prison, Death Valley Fortress, Antarctica, Undersea Base levels 1-4. These were generated with oblige 7.59 edit 1 (randoom).
-XFiend Monster tweaked to be scary and not annoying. Gone is his old instakill attack which was annoying since the x-fiend is a stealth monster. he just has this scary moan when he attacks. He does do a lot of damage though.
-Monstrosity tweaked to be humongous and a lot more deadly.
-Enema launcher tweaked to be more like the original idea, with “shit” sprites spawning near the corpses of it’s victims.
-New “Explododog” Weapon introduced. Now Bastard Takes Dogs, and can throw them after attaching explosives to them. They function like missiles. You get only 30 per level so use them wisely.
-Toothpaste Tube Death re-introduced. This was an old idea by hitman213. I wanted a gun that knocked enemies unconscious. This gun was an energy weapon that shot out projectiles that did this. So He wanted a secondary fire that made bastard jump on the sleeping bodies and make their intestines pop out their mouth. Now they pop out of the characters chest when hit with the secondary fire. Close enough.

Anyway, Onslaught is close to be finished now. This version is the final version people. It is close to release. I imagine by March 17 2019 it will be out. Here is an updated trailer…
