It’s that time of year again… Onslaught turned 1 year old… It officially happened on may 22. It’s an important milestone, because this celebrates it’s release… And it’s greatness… The game is barely known but it’s a good one so this post is going to showcase it’s strengths in one post, to try to get people to download it…
The 5 Reasons you should play Onslaught…
Many games exist that people like. Many exist that are flawed. Many Indie retro FPS games exist. Many are overrated… There are reasons to not play some of these.. However that is not what this post is about. This is about WHY you should play Onslaught Instead!
5) It’s darker and scarier…
Onslaught does something very few Indie FPS games Do and that is make a game with dark atmosphere, messed up story elements, and creepy looks… This game is downright messed up and many Indie FPS games simply cannot compare to it… It has a story involving nuclear weapons, mutations, a mad cult, post apocalyptic wasteland settings, and a crazy madman leading the cult who is a Demon in a Human Body.
4) It’s harder
Many Indie FPS games don’t have the combat Onslaught Does… Onslaught brings in SLAUGHTERFEST combat into a FPS game, first of it’s kind… No FPS games do this and slaughterfest combat is so underrated in Doom Maps that you barely see it anymore… Expect massive hordes of enemies as you fight your way through the CSC villains.. Also expect a lot of the nastier enemies to be able to instakill you, even on easier skills.
3) It’s got a better Soundtrack
A lot of games do a dance soundtrack these days. I am scratching my head, wondering “WHY?”, when dance music is so shit.. This game however, has a FULL BLACK METAL soundtrack. Complete with atmospheric touches… It’s Superior in any way to any shooter with a non metal soundtrack, and superior to shooters with a metal soundtrack as well, as black metal is one of the best kinds of metal. It’s also got a dark evil soundtrack that sets the mood..
2) It’s funnier…
If a game has humor in it. it usually doesn’t impress me much… Much of the humor is either offensive shit or x-rated crap. In This game’s case however, the humor comes from a character that spews a lot of pro-metal, and breaking fourth wall type oneliners. It’s seriously hilarious and you need to play it to see exactly what Is said by the character. Some of it is a riot!
1) It has far better weapons.
Where most games are content to use 7-10 weapons, this game goes overboard and gives you 34! And many of them are unique…. Dual Rocket Launcher Backpack, Nailgun/shotgun hybrid, Flamethrower shotgun hybrid, gasoline can (allows you to light the ground on fire), semi auto double shotgun, earthquake gun, overkill cannon (full auto 5 barrel shotgun), Spread Rifle (A crossbreed of a shotgun and machinegun), Nail Bombs (Not seen in many games), The Skewer (a dart gun that gibs enemies), and a fucking rocket firing chaingun. You can’t get more unique than this!!!!
